Title: Unauthorized Withdrawl
Post by: mantic0ra on September 25, 2011, 10:57 am
Today was my first purchase of bitcoins, and my first purchase on SR. I bought a package off Italian Pilot, and everything went fine, earlier this morning. I've been refreshing the page every now and then checking the status, and i noticed that my last 3 bitcoins were gone from my account and i have no idea why. So i tried to change my password and it kept failing, so i logged out and tried to log back in and its not working. I am really nervous now and i have no idea what to do. Could someone please help me and give me some answers, or ideas on what i should do  :-\ :-\ :-\ :(

Contact SR asap! Tell him info only the acct owner would know, Like orders or PMs (Account balance wouldn't work too good for you...)

Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the reply! I sent a message to SR 23 hours ago, just sitting and waiting, hoping to get a reply soon. My main concern is if this is a phishing attack, would my order have been phished also? or would it still go through?

Sounds like phishing.
Depends whether your order is compromised or not on who phished it.
I'd PM IP on the forums and see if anyone canceled the order for your SR account, if not then the btc are in escrow and the order could go as you want because there will be an autorelease in the BTC in escrow.

So sorry man  :-\

Always check for the real SR website : http://ianxz6zefk72ulzz.onion/index.php
and try to memorize something out of it or better the whole thing.

Karma's a bitch

Hey, thanks for the support fella's :) I've been in contact with IP and he's going to work with me and send me a free bag, he's really been great with the whole situation. I'm in the process of memorizing the URL right now, and i have a much longer stronger password, so this shouldn't happen again. I think maybe on the login page where it gives the phishing warning, they should put an image with the real SR URL. Maybe ill post that in suggestions :)

It has happened to me as well. I made a deposit yesterday and my money is gone this morning. What happened. I am soooo careful only to go to SR from the onion link. The odd thing id that there is no bitcoin address for the withdrawal. This is my first time to populate my account it was there at 1:42 AM UTC and it was gone at 10:55 AM What is up with this ???  Is there any way to reverse this??? How do I fight this???

Make sure you bookmark the REAL URL to a encrypted thumb drive. That's one way to safe while traveling on this SilkRoad...

So how does phishing work?

OP clicked on a rogue link which is a facsimile of Silkroad, and it stole his password?
How did he get to that link first?

Same happened to me...I got a refund @12:05, then the total of all of my bitcoins was withdrawn @ 12:06 - also with no address or notes. I have no idea what happened. I have only ever been on silk road via the REAL url..have it memorized for this reason. As of now I am out 13 BTC! WTF happened? I sent a msg to SR (thru SR PM) to try and get some answers.
